Carisbrooke Castle Museum
Carisbrooke Castle Museum is site that is steeped in history!
On the site there is a medieval castle as well as the actual Carisbrooke Castle. The castle was founded in 1898 by HRH Princess Beatrice, Queen Victoria's youngest daughter. It was a memorial to her husband, Prince Henry of Battenberg.
Within Carisbrooke Castle site there is also a museum. The museum cares for around 27,000 items that are connected with the Isle of Wight.

- Military History
- Costume
- Ecclesiastical History
- Paintings
- Photographs
- And A Great Deal More
The museum is also running the Wight at War website. This is the official website for the commemoration of the centenary of World War I.
The information on display will be running until 11 November 2018 at which time it will be archived. We urge you to go to the museum before this time to see the fascinating history that this exhibit holds.
